The Ministry of Grace Community Baptist Church is the result of God given vision to me in 1988. While passing through the busy center of Sikh Village, a visiting preacher asked me, "why isn't there any church to be seen around this area?" When I told him there is none, he challenged me to plant one. After several years of prayer and preparation, this challenge was taken up in 1995. The year 1995 stands as a landmark in my personal life and the life of GCBC, for by His Grace the very first service was held on May 5th with a handful of people.
The hand of God is evinced in the fact that the Lord has blessed us from where we started then, to where we are now. Although it appeared to be an endless wait, the Lord in His time allowed us to purchase a property in October 2004. The foundation for the new sanctuary was laid on May 1, 2005.
God's faithfulness is indeed great or as Jeremiah puts it 'Great is Thy Faithfulness'. Looking back 'then', we gathered in a rented place, where again God's faithfulness was seen in the fact that we were allowed to rent that place for over 11 years at a stretch. Of course, 'now' we indeed own the place and are grateful to the Lord for His goodness in providing us this new and beautiful sanctuary. It is a dream come true. The Church building was dedicated on December 3, 2006, by Dr. Bob Doom and Dr. David Dickerson both from the USA.
As stated earlier, the church exists not only for the edification of the believers but also to carry out the Great Commission both in word and indeed. In order to address the social and physical needs of the society, we have another charitable trust known as the "Baptist Charitable and Educational Trust". The main ministry of the trust over the years has been that of the children's home. The Children's Home has prospered so well that the boys who joined us in their 1st Grade are now in their 12th Grade, some are preparing for EAMCET and one is already doing Engineering. All accounts are audited and proper returns are filed with the IT Department. The trust has been granted 80G Number for 4 consecutive terms.
